Main pros: Beautiful nature, superior course with a tradition, interesting terrain and holes.
Originally, the golf course was located in the south of Karlovy Vary, stretching on an area of 2.3 hectares and offering 9 holes. With the growing popularity of this sport, the course layout ceased to suit the needs of golfers, and the idea of creating a new, bigger course, this time with 18 holes, emerged.
From several possible options, a locality in the Olsova Vrata cadastral area was selected. The design was made by the most popular specialist of the time, the Paris architect C. Noskowki. The course was successfully completed under his supervision in 1933.
Due to the economic crisis and the consequent departure of the society from golf in the 50’s, the course had to wait for achieving a higher professional level for a time, specifically until the time when the Golf Resort Karlovy Vary joint-stock company assumed it.
The course was then reconstructed completely within a short period of time. A new clubhouse was built, as well as an irrigation system, tees, parking areas, all grass surfaces were renewed, including drains, water bodies, the construction of a new training meadow and last, but not least, the machinery.
Despite all adaptations, the original character of the course was preserved. Thanks to the indented terrain at the foot of the Ore Mountains and the beautiful surrounding woods, it counts among the most beautiful ones in the Czech Republic.
